Social Media - Strategy, Management & Consulting
Social Media Strategy
Social media's value has been diminished by so called "guru's" and social media consultants telling organisations to jump on Facebook and Twitter because they have 100's of millions of people using them. A social media strategy is important because it can provide your organisation with tangible business outcomes including:
- Improved internal collaboration and communication
- More targetted communication to your target market
- Better information on your customers and industry.
- More efficient processes across your entire organisation (not just sales and marketing)
- Better service delivery and customer support
- Reduced costs
- Increased profitability by attracting new customers, generating more revenue per customer and reducing customer churn
We've assisted organisations across a range of industries with social media strategy, including professional services, manufacturing, local government and consumer telecomms. Through our social media consulting services we actively assist the City of Kingston their local government social media strategy.

Our work and leisure time is being conducted more and more in a digital environment. However, it still can’t replace the fun and excitement of the world’s large events, especially a massive sports events like the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. The world cup held once every 4 years is the most significant cricketing cup for all nations that participate in this great sport. For Indians it is the most important event in the sporting calendar. As a native of Mumbai it certainly consumed my interest for the last month.
As a digital marketer I was closely following how the event organizers used social media, seo and the internet to keep sponsors, players and fans updated with the news, scores and information revolving around the world cup in India. Read More...

Having a social media policy is one of the fundamental building blocks of any social media strategy or social media framework. It provides the parameters within which employees and those associated with an organisation are expected to behave. I have seen many different policies and they range from simple ones (with statements along the lines of "be good" ) to bulky tomes that take forever to read. I recommend somewhere in between.
