Join us for the first digital platform user group meeting of the year. 

This session is being hosted by Hobsons Bay City Council at their new refurbished office in Altona.

Running from 9.30am - 3.30pm we will spend the day looking at the effective use and management of API's and integration technologies in Local Government primarily but also how they are being adopted in other sectors.

The day will be a mix of case study presentations from local government users and technical workshops. It is also an opportunity to catch up with your peers in other councils and discuss challenges and opportunities for the year ahead. The agenda will be finalised in January - please let us know if there are any items you would like included.

9.00 – 9.30: Arrival and coffee

Morning: High-level Discussions and Presentation

9.30 – 10.15: Introduction to APIs and Introduction.

A refresher session on key integration concepts, key business drivers, and key outcomes of integration, with examples from the government and private sector.

10.45 – 11.15: Integration of core systems and portals

A look at some of the integrations between core council systems, portals and dashboards. We will look at common integration patterns, integration processes and discuss challenges like error management.

11.15 – 11.30: Coffee Break

11.30 – 12.00: Identity Management and Single Sign-On

A case study and discussion on Single Sign-On and Identity Management and a look at how the technology works.

12.30 – 1.00:  An overview of API Management

A look at how councils can manage the proliferation of APIs in their council and develop their own APIs with API Manager.

1.00– 1.30: Lunch

Afternoon Technical session

1.30 – 3.30: Hands-on with WSO2 (bring your laptops)

This is a more technical session. We will run a technical session on tools or technologies suggested or requested by the group.
