The City of Greater Bendigo has launched a comprehensive emergency dashboard that delivers critical, real-time information to residents during bushfires, floods, storms, and other emergencies — with four additional Victorian councils set to deploy the same real-time dashboard for their communities helping ready their communities ahead of the summer fire season.
One Platform. Instant Protection.
When fire danger escalates or emergencies strike, residents need answers immediately. Bendigo's new emergency dashboard centralises everything communities need to stay safe:
- Live CFA fire danger ratings — automatically updated from trusted sources
- Real-time incident maps — location-specific alerts residents can act on
- Emergency resources in one place — preparation guides, social feeds, and recovery support
The dashboard is built directly into Council's website and gives the community confidence that they can access accurate, trusted information the moment they need it most. Importantly, the dashboard utilises information provided by third party sources avoiding any confusion, eliminating duplication of data, and minimising any updating requirements by council staff.
Victorian Councils Collaborating and Sharing Digital Tools
Following Bendigo's successful implementation, four additional Victorian councils (Ararat, Golden Plains, Mildura and Pyrenees) are adopting the emergency dashboard platform, recognising the critical need for centralised, real-time emergency communication. This demonstrates local government are taking a proactive approach, adopting interoperable, always-on information systems that serve communities year-round. The costs of development are shared by all councils as they collaborate across a single platform, maximising the use of tax payer dollars.
Built for Crisis. Ready When It Matters.
Symphony3's team has worked closely with the team at Bendigo to develop an emergency dashboard that is purpose-built for the high-pressure realities of emergency management:
- Mobile-ready and accessible — reaching every resident, on any device
- Easy to update — councils maintain control without technical bottlenecks
- Seamlessly integrated — fits existing council websites and systems and draws on open data that is available from State Government
The platform eliminates the confusion of multiple information sources, giving residents a single, authoritative destination for emergency updates in their area.
Preparation Starts Before the Smoke
By providing consistent access to trusted emergency information, councils are building safer, more resilient communities before danger strikes from bush fires or other emergencies.
The councils deploying this technology aren't waiting for the next emergency to upgrade their response. They're protecting their communities now with smarter, faster communication.
Testimonial
Symphony3 transformed how we communicate during emergencies. Our residents previously had to check multiple sites and channels for updates; now everything is in one central, easy-to-use dashboard. The solution is live, accurate, accessible, and fully configurable by our emergency team, without relying on comms or external vendors. It’s a cost-effective, reliable and modern tool that gives us complete control of our emergency information. We’re extremely happy with the result and would recommend Symphony3 to any council looking to improve their emergency communications.
