Symphony3 to Acquire Data Cubed NZ – Strengthening Digital Transformation Capabilities

Press Announcement

Melbourne, Australia – July 18, 2025

Symphony3 is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreed acquisition plan with Data Cubed New Zealand. This strategic move reflects a shared culture and commitment to our people and customers and positions us to significantly enhance our digital transformation capabilities.

Under the agreement, Data Cubed NZ will operate under the Symphony3 brand, strengthening our advisory services to key target markets and expanding our ability to support clients with a broader range of digital transformation and data integration solutions across Australia and New Zealand.

“This is a significant and exciting step forward for both companies,” said Thomas Hynes, CEO of Symphony3. “By combining the strengths of our teams and uniting under one brand, we’re creating a stronger organisation focused on delivering greater customer impact across advisory and data services.”

One of the most compelling aspects of the acquisition is the integration of Symphony3’s SmartGlue platform with Data Cubed’s digital advisory expertise—a powerful combination that will enable clients to seamlessly connect strategy with execution. This unique blend of technology and insight will help organisations modernise faster, unlock data value, and achieve sustainable transformation outcomes.

Key Highlights:

  • Expanded Customer Offering: The acquisition enables Symphony3 to broaden its data-driven services and solutions, enhancing support for councils, government agencies, and service organisations navigating complex transformation programs.
  • Wellington and Brisbane Presence: With dedicated teams based in Wellington NZ and Brisbane, Symphony3 will be even better positioned to serve customers with local expertise and responsive, on-the-ground support.
  • Leadership and Operational Alignment: The combined organisation will operate under unified leadership and aligned processes, ensuring consistency and continuity for existing clients while enabling scalable growth.
  • Customer-Centric Growth: This acquisition supports Symphony3’s strategic vision to strengthen its advisory and data capabilities, empowering clients to make smarter decisions through integrated technology and expert guidance.

“Becoming part of Symphony3 gives us the platform to scale our impact, enhance service delivery, and bring even more value to the clients we work with,” said Christian Redgewell, CEO of Data Cubed NZ. “Our shared values and commitment to innovation make this a natural and exciting fit.”

The integration will be carefully managed to ensure business continuity and establish a strong foundation for future growth. Symphony3 and Data Cubed NZ are committed to transparent communication and will keep all stakeholders informed throughout the transition.

This expansion is the first stage of Symphony3’s growth plan, with further expansion planned in the 2025/26 financial year. This expansion is being supported by Austrade’s Export Market Development Grant, which Symphony3 was awarded recently.
