Pozi is an Australian-owned GIS (Geographic Information System) platform designed to make location-based information simple, accessible, and genuinely useful without requiring specialist software or GIS training. Founded originally as Groundtruth in 1999, Pozi has been working with Victorian councils since the very beginning and launched one of Australia's first hosted web GIS platforms in 2009. Today, Pozi is used by more than 50 local governments across Australia and is built on QGIS, an industry-standard open-source GIS platform.
Pozi is purpose-built for local and state government, utilities, land development, engineering, environmental management, and infrastructure teams. It connects directly to an organisation's live data sources, including property registers, asset management systems, planning layers, and state and federal government web services, so staff and residents always see accurate, up-to-date information without manual updates or data duplication. The platform works across desktop, tablet, and mobile and requires no software installation. Key features include address search, GPS location, aerial imagery, layer management, community consultation tools, offline mobile data capture via Mergin Maps, and a Web API for integration with other council systems.
Pozi is headquartered in Melbourne and provides personalised support directly from the team that builds and maintains the platform, a genuine point of difference for regional and metropolitan councils that want responsive, local help. All data is hosted and supported in Australia, maintaining data sovereignty. Pozi has an established presence across Victorian municipalities in particular, and Pozi Connect is now used by the majority of Victorian councils for property and address data management.
